First Look: Six Senses London
I toured the brand new Six Senses London that just opened in March 2026.
It feels calm and cocooning—more “reset in the city” than “grand hotel show.” If you like quiet, beautiful spaces, strong spa energy, and a hotel that makes you slow down, this is it. A former luxury department store has be rebuilt completely to house the hotel and residences.
The wellness offerings are quite unique and the huge facilities are state of the art and impeccable. A private members club called Six Senses Place for locals and hotel guests on the first floor wants to combine social and health in one place. Owners of a full-service residence in the building (available for purchase from £2m apparently) have free access to the club in the first year.
Ambiance
Six Senses London feels like a calm pocket of West London inside The Whiteley — a landmark building on Queensway that’s been reimagined with real care. The vibe is warm and grounded rather than “lobby theatre”: Art Deco curves, rich woods, big windows, and an overall sense that this hotel is built for people who want to slow down in London, not speed up.
Dining
Food and drink follow the same philosophy. The core venues are Whiteley’s Kitchen, Whiteley’s Bar, and Whiteley’s Café, and the hotel positions the kitchen as vegetable-led modern British—seasonal, produce-first, and meant to feel easy from breakfast through late plates.
Rooms
Upstairs, there are 109 rooms and suites (plus 14 branded residences), and many rooms come with private terraces—which is a big deal in London if you’re the type who likes fresh air and a quiet moment without leaving the hotel. Design-wise it’s very Six Senses: calming palettes, warm materials, and that “urban sanctuary” feel rather than high-gloss flash.
Spa & Wellness
At the core of the Six Senses brand is comprehensive wellness of body and mind. So this is also the headline feature here. Six Senses Spa London spans 2,300+ sqm and is set up like a full wellness destination: a 20-meter indoor pool, a magnesium pool, a biohacking recovery lounge, and a state-of-the-art fitness center, with wellness programming geared toward longevity. The journey ends at the Alchemy Bar, where the concept is personalized botanical blends you can take with you—very on-brand, and genuinely distinctive for London.
This is the 20m pool - a photo provided by the hotel, because I couldn’t see it myself as it will only open some time in April 2026.
